Sarah Wilson Thacker is a Los Angeles based award-winning filmmaker from Tampa, Florida, whose work includes films, television, and branded content for clients such as Sony Interactive/PlayStation, Google, Ceasars Entertainment, and Revlon.

A film directing MFA recipient from Chapman University, Sarah won a 2014 Student Emmy Award for her musical thesis film, The Bright Side, which was an official selection at dozens of film festivals worldwide and winner of the 2013 ASC Student Heritage Award and Best Short Film award at the 2014 Hollywood Film Festival. In the spring of 2018, Sarah directed a half hour drama pilot for Sony Interactive/PlayStation as part of the PlayStation Emerging Filmmakers Program, The Many Lives of Ayn Winters. Her music video work includes pieces for The Brevet and KEZAR, while her branded content work includes campaigns for Ceasars, short films for Google, and a over a dozen pieces created with Apples and Oranges Studios & the Serino Coyne advertising agency for the Tony award-winning Broadway musical An American in Paris. Sarah was closely mentored by Martha Coolidge and Andrew Lane, and she also participated in the highly competitive filmmaker-in-residence program, mentored by screenwriter Leslie Dixon. She previously assisted writer/director Nancy Meyers, Academy Award Winning producer Michael Phillips, agent/producer Harry Ufland, and shadowed director Melanie Mayron on the CW’s Jane the Virgin. Sarah is a 2018 top ten CDDP program finalist and a Women in Film Mentoring Program Fellow. Her colorful work features strong emotional performances often complimented by elements of magical realism, dance, and a subtle lightheartedness.
