Sarah Wilson Thacker is a Los Angeles based award-winning filmmaker from Tampa, Florida, whose work includes films, television, and branded content for clients such as Sony/Playstation, Google, Ceasars Entertainment, and Revlon.
A film directing MFA recipient from Chapman University, Sarah won a 2014 Student Emmy Award for her musical thesis film, The Bright Side, which was an official selection at dozens of film festivals worldwide and winner of the 2013 ASC Student Heritage Award and Best Short Film award at the 2014 Hollywood Film Festival. Her work includes 8 official music videos for the alt-rock group, The Brevet, as well as over a dozen pieces developed with the Apples and Oranges Studios & Serino Coyne advertising agency for the Tony award-winning Broadway musical An American in Paris. In the spring of 2018, Sarah directed a half hour drama pilot for Sony/Playstation as part of the Playstation Emerging Filmmakers Program. She previously assisted writer/director Nancy Meyers, Academy Award Winning producer Michael Phillips, agent/producer Harry Ufland, and shadowed director Melanie Mayron on the CW’s Jane the Virgin. Sarah is a 2017 Half Foundation Finalist, a 2018 top ten CDDP program finalist, and a Women in Film Mentoring Program Fellow. Her colorful work features strong emotional performances often complimented by elements of magical realism, dance, and a subtle lightheartedness.
